Photography: The genii behind Toilet Paper magazine capture Dakis Joannou's art collection, Playboy style

Date

Have you walked past a newsstand to be greeted with an image that sets the hairs on the back of your neck on end? Chances are it was Toilet Paper Magazine, and the image was probably something a little like this. The erotic, spine-tingling magazine is the lovechild of infamous image-makers Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, and is one of the most unique publications being created today.

Seeing their unbelievable ability to make such images, famous art and furniture collector Dakis Joannou commissioned them to photograph his jaw-dropping collection. The result? A lurid, nightmarish shoot that looks like a cross between a bumper 1970s edition of Playboy and a sci-fi B-movie. Glorious.
