Using family and found snapshots that already hold their own sentimentality, the expressive re-renderings by painter Megan McCabe use the nostalgic aesthetic to reductive, gestural effect. The liberal marks and colours blend the movements of the people into their environment so that the quality of space within each image is a constant and subtle shifting of movement, never really coming into full focus and in that way, playing up to their representations of memories.
