Micah Lidberg's illustrations of peonies serve to remind us of how much we love him

Date
8 April 2013

It’s proof of Micah Lidberg’s inimitable greatness that he can just swan in amongst the crowds of other illustrators pushing triangles, squiggles, palm trees and pizza and just whack down some drawings of peonies that resemble silk wallpapers of the Ming dynasty like it’s no big thing. Inspired by the flowers on display in his childhood home, Micah has created plump, blooming repeat patterns that have promptly been picked up by Hugo and Marie for a range of scarves. We sometimes forget about Micah during his quiet spells, but this beautiful homage to his childhood has planted him firmly back in our favourites.
