Magnificent retelling of Arabian Nights from the brilliant Noa Snir

We’ve got nothing but respect for young creatives who try to reshape the world in their own image; maybe improving it a little along the way. So we’re mighty impressed with Noa Snir, Israeli illustrator and recent graduate of Bezalel academy in Jerusalem, who’s taken on the mammoth task of illustrating Arabian Nights, arguably one of the most visceral folk texts in literary history, as her final graduation project.

For a student this is an exceptionally brave move; not only are there more illustrated versions of this particular work than you’d ever be able to count, but also trying to project manage your time to read, illustrate and publish such a mighty work alongside churning out your dissertation and getting ready for the inevitable minefield of graduation is nothing short of extraordinary. Oh and obviously the quality of illustration is excellent. Noa, you have our unconditional respect.
