Somewhere between an artist and a designer, Oliver Binnian’s work follows a strong line of concept driven process that is remarkably communicative. His project Seven Years is a collection of laborious drawings that visually contemplate the potential metal-detecting rationale of a man who traipsed a single field for seven (yes) years looking for national treasure. All at once, these appropriately intense mark-making exercises become small, logical pathways that follow an extraordinary story that ends well. Like, £7,000,000 worth of well.
