Publication: Parterre de Rois' debut issue, Carnal, makes for a juicy read

Date

There are few fresh starts as exciting as the very first issue of a new publication, and the first instalment of magazine Parterre de Rois seemed to send out rays of gleaming light, enticing members of the team to rifle through its fruitful pages, as soon as it landed on our desk this week. The debut issue is based around the theme “carnal”, and the editors invited a selection of guests to interpret this theme in any way they saw fit, leading to a juicy collection of curated content gathered by photographers, neuroscientists, musicians, illustrators, a director, a calligrapher, a tattoo artist and a butcher. Coming together easily in spite of the breadth of contributors, the images make for a fascinating range of material, and promises great things to come from the second issue.
