Paul Paetzel’s psychedelic space age illustrations are out of this world

Date
5 July 2016

A retro space age feel, Paul Paetzel’s illustrations take us to a place where hover cars and robot waiters are the norm. His fantastical images are dressed in an array of wild, psychedelic colours that clash and complement each other, and suit Paul’s cartoonish style.

The Berlin-based illustrator’s work manages to be both nostalgic and futuristic at the same time, by using familiar environments like a pizza place or bus station and adding high-tech radical elements to them. Still using his Flickr page to host his illustrations, it’s been two years since we last featured Paul’s work. While his images have become a little more refined there’s still a sense of imagination and cosmic adventure that makes Paul’s work a joy to look through.
