Photography: Serene behind-the-scenes shots of fashion shows from Holger Talinski
We get the impression that backstage at fashion shows is all cameras flashing, face powder flying everywhere and very tall people pulling their tiny bodies into incredibly expensive clothes, but it isn’t all like that. Holger Talinski has been backstage at some Berlin fashion shows to capture the serene moments in between the bright lights, deafening music and whispering crowds. You forget that backstage at a fashion show is not unlike the atmosphere you would find in a theatre; hushed and dark, with phone-screens lighting up the gloom and people secretly and gingerly peering out to to catch a glimpse of the crowd. These photographs tell much more of a story than shots of the catwalk collections ever could.
