Istanbul-based design studio's identity to accompany the Architecture Biennale

Date
25 July 2014

This year for the first time ever Istanbul is to be included in the Venice Architecture Biennale, and will showcase the work of five contemporary Turkish artists as curated by Murat Tabanlıoğlu. So how do you go about celebrating your country’s participation in one of the greatest celebrations of architecture? If you’re anything like graphic design studio Future Anecdotes Istanbul, you put together a glorious identity and accompanying publication to celebrate the event.

The studio, which is run by Chelsea School of Art postgraduate Asli Altay, specialises in artist publications and identities and Places of Memory is a wonderful culmination of all the gems she’s picked up from past work. Celebrating Istanbul’s incredibly rich and diverse culture, including essays by and conversations with a whole host of leading creative brains and shot through with glossy stock and strong yellow, it’s a publication that is sure to endure long beyond the end-date of the Biennale. The studio is the most recent in a line of exciting new work to come out of Istanbul, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
