Film: Shynola’s dark and disturbing Dr. Easy is a real must-watch

This dark (in all senses) little film is actually the planned prologue for a full-length adaptation of Matthew D’Abaitua’s novel The Red Men. You always know with Shynola that you’re going to get something special, but even by their own sky-high standards this is very impressive. The novel is a dystopic sci-fi fantasy about a post 9/11 world where fear, anxiety and corporate manipulation reign supreme. In this clip a financial worker making a last desperate stand is confronted by a robot which is able to negotiate with him and administer medical help while scanning his digital footprint to feedback information to the police about his financial affairs. There’s something chokingly claustrophobic about the whole thing and the production values are really top-quality – all eyes now will be on whether the full version gets the green light. Oh and it’s also features Neil’s dad from the Inbetweeners as an added bonus!
