Simple and engaging illustration from London-based Simon Landrein

Date
22 March 2016

Simon Landrein’s work combines bold graphic imagery and block colour to create memorable comic images and films. His illustration shows influences of pop artists, such as the thick, deliberate lines of Keith Haring and the halftone patterns and stippling of Roy Lichtenstein. Simon manages to communicate clearly with a limited number of techniques. Born in France and based in London since 2007, Simon studied at Supinfocom Valenciennes and has a client list that includes The New Yorker, The New York Times, MTV and Wired.

When It’s Nice That last featured Simon, we lauded his “saucy” work and time has not seen his appetite dwindle for risque commissions – noticeably his contribution to an article about chemsex for Les Inrockuptibles last year.
