Meanwhile, in Zurich, an exhibition showcases hundreds of beautiful Swiss photobooks dating from 1927 to the present day. This enormous collection not only highlights the natural affinity between the Swiss and design, but also proves that collecting images is something that has been going on a lot longer than our current click-and-drag culture suggests. The show itself brings intelligent contextualisation and illuminating insider-knowledge to the books, some of which have been lost for many years and are now presented to a wide-eyed and grateful audience.
