Things is here and with photography, patriotism and illustration galore – it is a mightily fine odd bunch!

Date

The beginning of October has treated us at It’s Nice That oh so very kindly with a gigantic spurge in the Things’flying through our letter box, so choosing the very very best has become like something out the judging corner at Crufts. Examined in every minute detail, scrutinised for their glossy coats and checked for good behaviour, these are the lucky few that made it through and aren’t they a lovely lot…

Mulberry: Brilliant Britain

A bit of old fashioned patriotism can never go a miss and with the luxury brand Mulberry boldly proud of their wholesome British heritage, it would seem rather fitting for them to celebrate by creating this little handbook guiding you through all that is brilliant about Britain. From open-air theatres to the very best architectural havens, they’ve found it all and steered clear of the often all too London-centric view of the UK, so slip this little guide in your bag and never will you be lost for some brilliantly British entertainment ever again.

Jenni Rope: Studio Visit

When it comes to studios every, artist has a certain, rather particular way of doing things. Whether creativity flourishes in the midst of chaos and “organised mess” or you like it kept all neat and tidy, there is no single approach. So when Jenni Rope’s new book Studio Visit came sailing through our door brimming with photographs of 18 different artists’ studios in Helsinki we all wanted a little nose. From plant mad jungle-like studios to the very tidiest and neatly organised (yes it has bookshelves), this little gem of a book has it all.

Everyone is sporting vintage these days, from shoes and hats, to flying jackets and those little delicate leather gloves that surely only children have hands small enough to squeeze into. Yes vintage is wonderflu, so what could be better then a rather hefty book photographing vintage’s very finest? Coming through our door this week the mighty Vintage Menswear celebrates the most beautiful of vintage menswear and with a little explanation to each we piece of clothing, we think it’s pretty great.

Hey Studio: Hey Characters – A Book for Friends

The lovely people over at Hey studio in Barcelona sent us this little treat of a book this week. Featuring a nice collection of characters from world famous books, the illustrations are as they themselves put it – “designed the way we like it” and showcase beautifully exactly what the design studio is all about. Being so wonderfully simplistic – with just pure illustrations and not much else – we are utterly charmed by this limited edition little number.
