All florals and perfect hair in Tina Tyrell’s romantic shoot for Bon magazine

Date
20 November 2015

The 1970s seem to meet Oscar Wilde in a recent editorial Tina Tyrell shot for Bon magazine. The California-born, New York-based photographer’s work for the Swedish biannual, styled by John Colver, resolutely goes against the minimalist grain. With their flamboyancy, the photographs don’t play to obvious incarnations of masculinity, but instead seem to recall the heyday of the dandy. All “the trappings of manliness” that inspired the shoot, from Brooks Brothers boxers and tall socks to a sport coat with a pocket square, are offset by the model’s boyish looks and hair inspired by none other than the actress Lauren Bacall.
