Stained glass might usually be associated with dreary school/family trips round old churches (when all you really wanted is to get to the gift shop) but in the hands of New York artist Tom Fruin it has become something with a real wow factor. His Kolonihavehus sculpture for the plaza of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen was created using 1,000 pieces of reclaimed plexiglass, and with a little help from Danish performance artists CoreAct it has been lit to majestic, magical effect.
