Graphic Design: Wallpaper* follow up print redesign with smart new website

Date
2 September 2013

We brought news to you a couple of weeks ago about Wallpaper* magazine’s redesign and said that the website was set to follow suit. Well now it has, designed built in consultation with Nicolas Roope of Poke London and Marc Kremers and the results prove that the online offering was no afterthought.

Portrait and Darby, the same new typefaces which took centre stage in the print redesign are present and correct and the site is fully responsive with scrollable archives of stories. It’s crisp and clean with excellent use of imagery but there is also a slight but definite tone shift which makes the site seem slightly more fun and welcoming than previously.

Malaika Byng, online editor of Wallpaper.com said: ‘The site redesign conveys the richness of our content in an instant, maximising our photography and depth of stories. The fresh and sophisticated new look is paired with a dramatically enhanced user experience, which takes advantage of the most innovative technologies available.’"
