Date
26 April 2011

As the Photographers Gallery is under an exciting redevelopment we must enjoy their fortieth birthday treat at the impressive Ambika P3 gallery. Now in it’s 15th year, the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2011 awards a photographer of any nationality for their significant contribution to the medium over the year since the last awards. The shortlist is a brilliant mix bag of highbrow-mundane, challenging realities, uncanny, and sincerity from the studio to remote landscapes. Nominees: Thomas Demand (Germany); Roe Ethridge (USA); Elad Lassry (Israel); Jim Goldberg (USA) – Winner!
