Illustration: Will Bryant and his Drawings Based on Sculptures Based on Drawings

Date
4 February 2014

We’ve got another multi-talented scallywag for you this morning in the form of Will Bryant, whose inimitable style translates seamlessly from the geometric-inspired furniture he created with with Eric Trine last spring, to a nostalgic record sleeve for Dent May, to this masterpiece of an illustrated publication called Drawings Based on Sculptures Based on Drawings.

Never one for needlessly complicating a simple but brilliant idea, Will has made what he describes as “20 pages of wacky stacks and goofy piles,” otherwise known as riso-printed illustrations in green, pink and blue resembling sculptures which were based on drawings to begin with. Naive? They might seem it, but sometimes an offering from a brilliantly talented creative who doesn’t take themselves too seriously can put all kinds of work into perspective. Will gets 10 out of 10 from us.
