Illustration: Yann Kebbi is back with more exxxcellent illustration

Date
9 September 2013

Yann Kebbi first caught our eye with his beautiful illustrations which, in spite of their general “niceness” on first glance, reveal a sinister undertone the more you look at them. He’s still employing this technique to marvellous effect. In his series of illustrations for review Dorade, based on author Viken Berberian’s novel Das Kapital: A Novel of Love and Money Markets, Yann has taken a step away from the more polished images we used to associate with him, instead favouring the rapid movement and urban chaos imbued with his rough, vivid, endlessly dynamic line work.

Whether he’s trying to get talented fingers in as many pies as possible or proving his prowess in a whole bunch of different styles, we can’t help but admire the breadth of his skill; at this rate he’ll have conquered the world of illustration before we even have time to catch up with him.
