We’ve long ago gotten used to Swiss artist Zimoun thrilling us with his brilliant installations and his latest offerings are no exception. Deliberately or not all three of the new pieces seem to reference madness and they offer the polar opposite experience to the restbite from the mania of modern life many artists strive for. Instead with his obsession with the incessant – be it clicking motors, dripping medical infusion kits of bouncing cork balls – Zimoun creates environments that encapsulate some of the purest elements of contemporary culture – constant speed, constant noise and constant motion. It’s terrific, and slightly terrifying all at once.
