Slovenian designer Zoran Pungerčar gives us festival fever with his posters

Date
22 June 2012

Ljubljana-based Zoran Pungerčar first started designing posters as a teenager for various punk shows his friends were involved in. Since then, he has cultivated a career as a graphic designer and developed a huge interest in illustration – and, thankfully for us, posters for music gigs and festivals have remained a staple.

Combining pencil and ink-drawing with collage, watercolour, and Photoshop, he produces engaging visuals full of beautifully arranged textures, colours, and silhouettes. There is often a very playful aspect to his work, with engagingly childlike use of perspective and humorous detail, and an awesomely-varied use of typography. Pungerčar ensures that the mood and atmosphere of each composition reflects the band or genre being advertised, and sure enough, they’re making me seriously consider venturing to Slovenia for a summer of music, castles and trees. Rock on.
