At first you think the riot of angles, shapes and surfaces on these cars is purely function over form, but they are so handsome I can’t help thinking the designers threw in some flair for good measure.
Born and brought up in Kent, Benedict Radcliffe studied at the Mackintosh School of Art in Glasgow. After graduating, he pursued an interest in the commercial fabrication and construction of interiors and furniture as well as art and sculpture, working with leading Glaswegian architectural fabricators Scott Associates as well as contemporary Scottish artists Simon Starling, Jim Lambie, and Martin Boyce.
Since leaving Scott Associates as well as continuing to pursue personal projects and exhibitions, he has recently undertaken commissions for London Zoo, Nike, and Toyota. Benedict has been in his Brick Lane workshop for two years now.
His work looks at a number of themes; his love of machines and engineering, commercial branding and familiar logos or graphics and transferring them to different contexts and materials. But whatever he’s turning his hand to you can be sure that the outcome’s going to be something special.

Yes but especially my time up in Scotland. Studying Architecture and learning fabrication skills at Scott Associates under Simon Hopkins was invaluable.

Adam and I are CO-LAB-orating on some projects. We’re designing a range of hats somewhere in between a cloth cycling cap, Supreme 5 panel and a new era.
I’ve just started reading this and really loving it. It continues an argument begun in the 19th century, when writers such as John Ruskin and William Morris extolled the crafts remembered in our surnames (Smith, Cartwright, Thatcher, Mason, Fletcher) while lamenting the mind-numbing and soul-destroying labour of the industrial process which was replacing them.
Another video from me today, I really want to learn how to drive/ride like these two fellas.
Simply a master craftsman. Tricks on fixed gear bikes are silly compared to what Danny is doing.
