Leon Sadler
I think I have been a bit heavy on artist/illustrator types in my posts for the week, but I just wanted to show how much good stuff there is out there. Leon’s work is definitely out there.
London based illustrator Dan Has Potential draws pictures, mainly of vases and wavey lines at the moment. He makes music videos for various people including Metronomy, Late of the Pier, Kate Nash and the Cribs and also likes walking and eating.
I plan to do some video tests, some based on the paintings of Rene Magritte and some on other ideas, I draw almost every day so I will probably do some of that and I’ll be really busy watching the World Cup.
They have worked out how to use YouTube, especially my dad who can get it on his telly, so they know I sometimes make music videos, and they know I do exhibitions. I like how they remain unsure about my profession, it shows how unimportant it is and keeps me grounded.
Someone once stopped me in a Sainsbury’s in Greenwich and asked me if I was Jamie Oliver, my mum was with me and she always goes on about it.
Definitely tasting pizza.
I walked across England.
For me it was really important. I had loads of time and space to try out things and I went from wanting to do album covers to wanting to make my own films. And my tutor was really good, he said my drawing was rubbish and I should push the filmmaking, that didn’t stop me drawing though.
Dioreahha
On average people fear spiders more than they do death. I got this from an “interesting fact” website but it works for me.
One good thing about doing this as a job is you don’t know what’s next, but it can also be slightly stressful.
My plan B is like my Plan A, only I live in the middle of the woods and climb a mountain every day.

I love Bomba’s drawings of worms, rolling balls, foliage, shiny pink things, mushrooms, and the way he draws in such a free and fun style. He puts out new work all the time, which I’m always keen to see.
Chris is from Sweden and we are internet friends. I have wanted to work with Chris for a while now. He makes brilliant animations and draws excellent pictures of oddly shaped people, fun clichés and gangster rap. Here is a link to one of my favourite bits of his work, an animation made by him and Marcus Jonsson.
Jiro Bevis used to do a blog called Voodoo Village which is awesome, I think it was one of the first blogs I saw and it made me want to do one myself. He now does his own blog called Ying Yangs and it’s just as awesome. Through Jiro I learnt about such wonders as Jah Jah Sphinx.
One thing I find is that work doesn’t seem to stick out when you see so much on the internet now. This is why I really value the work of Matt Lock, to me its really original and his influences are from another place other than what’s going on at the moment.
