What’s Next?
Well, quite a lot actually, but I’ll be brief: Niwouinwouin and I have been asked to create an interractive live show that’s going to start touring in October 2010. It is called “Adventures in front of the TV set” and is an interactive performance / concert / thing that combines Niwouinwouin’s live music and my live animated visuals. The audience will see the main protagonist as he travels from one TV channel to the other and will help him find his way back home via different means of interaction (individual neon sticks, clapping their hands, screaming, jumping, etc). It should be pretty fun. At least we’re very excited about seeing people’s reaction. It should be coming to London soon after the beginning of the tour.
I’ve also signed as a director with production company Partizan, which thrills me as the spectrum of possibilities offered by moving image is immense and I can’t wait to start working with them. I’ve done a signature collection for Korean clothing brand Plac Jeans and the series includes embroidered polo shirts and jeans; it’s all being released in the next few weeks. I’m also working with the Pompidou Centre on some top secret stuff for September. I’ll be showing my Nike Creatures at the NIKE78 exhibition for the London Design Festival. I’ve done a range of Wine bottles for a domain in the south of France which should be pretty nice to see as well and will be released right in time for the nice days. I’m also releasing the first part of my narrative project The Republic: The Greatest Saga Never Told in association with french brand Sixpack. French Editor Eugène & Pauline are also releasing some of my new work for a show in Paris at the end of 2010, including a screen-printed wooden toy / jigsaw / oddity. I also have a couple of solo show lined up for the end of the year. But first things first, I’ll be showing a poster project at the RCA degree show, from the 24th of June and my Table Man set at the lovely Russian Club studios for the show Designers Furniture. And other stuff but I think I’ve said enough…
What’s your ‘Plan B’?
Journalism, but it’s not a plan B, it’s the A+ plan.
