Here 2013 June 2013

Our creative symposium is back, bigger and better. On Friday June 21 we’re bringing together a vast array of the best practitioners and creative talent from the UK and abroad for a one-day, fast-paced festival of creativity. The jam-packed programme features Erik Kessels (KesselsKramer), Nelly Ben Hayoun, Sarah Illenberger, Rafaël Rozendaal, Adam Buxton, Kate Moross, and CANADA among others!

Off Cuts April 2013

We were invited by the Tate to run a free two-day zine-making workshop with our friends Zine Swap and Patrick Fry for Hyperlink festival. It took place in the awesome, raw gallery space of the Tate Tanks. Over 2000 people visited us and some really ace zines were made across the two days.

We’ve got one more treat in store this year, In Progress; a one-day creative conference celebrating groundbreaking ideas and projects from 2012, and exploring how they will shape 2013 and beyond. The programme features high-profile talks and insights from some of the most exciting and forward-thinking people in the creative industries.

Here September 2012

We were thrilled by the sell-out success of Here, our one-day creative symposium that took place in September at The Royal Geographical Society. Speakers included Sir Paul Smith, Quentin Jones, Grant Orchard (Studio AKA), Sonya Dyakova (frieze), Bompas & Parr and Eike König (Hort)!

Words Words Words January 2012

For the early part of 2012, It’s Nice That teamed up with iconic London department store Selfridges to help celebrate the weird and wonderful power of “Words Words Words.” Not only did we take over four of the windows but we also organised a series of talks to revel in the power and glory of words in all their forms.

In Progress December 2011

Our In Progress 2011 conference was held at The Barbican in December. A top-notch roster of speakers looked back at the projects and themes which emerged in 2011, and forward to see how those ideas might shape 2012 and beyond. With speakers ranging from Sir John Sorrell and Tate Modern director Chris Dercon to Channel 4’s international editor Lindsey Hilsum and post digital art specialist Paul Pieroni, it was an exciting, eclectic day.

Fieldtrip

Field Trip October 2011

Field Trip was a a unique, creative learning experience., held over three days at the Rag Factory in east London. It offered participants the opportunity to discover new processes, to work in different ways, and to generate bold, new ideas through engaging workshops, talks, and an innovative programme of activities. It was led by a whole host of inspirational creatives including Yuri Suzuki, Johnny Kelly and Marion Deuchars.

On […] Talk Series June – August 2011

The On […] Talks Series offered thought-provoking ideas from exciting creatives on a number of contemporary themes. Insight and inspiration were provided by Ken Garland, Lucienne Roberts, George Hardie and Francesca Gavin, among others. The series, held at The Red Bull Studios over the course of ten weeks, dealt with Digital Experience, Motivation, Innovation & Ownership, Narrative and Activism.

Future:Content December 2010

Future:Content, the first It’s Nice That conference, was a one-day event looking at how we engage with, present, and define content across a number of platforms. Future:Content offered the opinions of industry specialists and aimed to provoke debate and dialogue between audience and the speakers with the hope of sparking further conversation across the industry.

Talkseries

Talk Series #1 April – September 2009

It’s Nice That hosted a monthly evening of talks in London’s Soho between April and October 2009, curated every month by a selected practitioner. The format was very simple – the creative that we invited to come and host the evening also bought two other speakers with them. The only criteria was that they should choose people who would be interesting and engaging – and they delivered in style.
