Ai Weiwei to guest edit next issue of Foam magazine with theme of surveillance

Foam have announced Ai Weiwei will be the guest editor for the magazine’s next issue, out this December. The issue is dedicated to the theme of “Freedom of Expression under Surveillance.” Having spent the last five years under constant surveillance by the Chinese government, this is a subject the artist is more than equipped to tackle. The issue will feature various projects by Ai Weiwei, including those that delve into his private life via Instagram and webcams, and those in which he turns the camera back on those watching him. It also marks the first time the publication pays tribute to the Chinese artist.
