Anish Kapoor and Ai Weiwei walk together in London to mark refugee crisis

Date
16 September 2015

Tomorrow (17 September) artists Anish Kapoor and Ai Weiwei will join together for a seven mile walk through London to mark the current refugee crisis. They will each carry a blanket to symbolise the need that faces 60 million refugees today. The artists welcome members of the public to join them and ask that they too bring a blanket in a gesture of support. The walk will begin at 10am at the Royal Academy of Arts, home to Ai Weiwei’s new solo show set to open this weekend. The artists will then walk across London and finish in Stratford. Over the next few months, the artists will repeat this action in cities across the world.
