The Association of Illustrators (AOI) has announced its winners for the World Illustration Awards 2015 and will hold an exhibition at Somerset House next month to celebrate. The extensive shortlist has been whittled down to 16 winners, in categories including; Editorial, Children’s Books, and Advertising.

The AOI has collaborated with the USA’s Directory of Illustration and Somerset House to create a more global representation of illustration and the work that will be presented is said to “recognise the exceptional work produced by illustrators… and promote illustration as an essential contributor to global visual culture.” All the winners can be viewed here, but highlights include Malika Favre for her BAFTA Film Awards brochures, João Fazenda for his Japanese folktale illustrations, and our very own It’s Nice That 2015 Grad, George Douglas for his surreal film posters in the New Talent category.

The World Illustration Awards 2015 exhibition will run at Somerset House from 5 October – 1 Novermber 2015.
