Bompas & Parr set to open British Museum of Food in London
This month will see food creatives Bompas & Parr launching the British Museum of Food in London, the world’s first “cultural institution entirely devoted to the history, evolution, science, sociology and art of food.”
Opening for three months, the museum will be based in Borough Market, and sees the pair collaborating with the market’s manager, trustees and traders to create a delectable institution that aims to enrich our lives and knowledge about food, nutrition and health but in a typically Bompas & Parr style. The opening exhibits are set to embody the museum’s motto of, “From field to table, mouth… and beyond,” and will include a selection of historical menus, a gallery of food art and a sonic wonderland based around chocolate.
The British Museum of Food will open on 23 October at One Cathedral Street, Borough Market.
