Barber Osgerby are among the winners of this year’s four Design Medals, announced this morning as part of London Design Festival. The 2015 awards are given to four designers in a break from the usual lone medal, which in the past was awarded to a single designer for their contribution to design throughout their career.

The awards comprise the Panerai London Design Medal, “the highest accolade bestowed upon an individual who has distinguished themselves within the industry and demonstrated consistent design excellence over a number of years,” in the words of LDF; the Lifetime Achievement Medal; the PCH Design Innovation Medal, which “honours an individual who has built one or more businesses where design lies at the core of its development and success,” and the Swarovski Emerging Talent Medal, given to a designer who has “made an
impact on the design scene within five years of graduation.”

The winners are as follows:
·         Panerai London Design Medal: Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby
·         Lifetime Achievement Medal: Ken Adam
·         PCH Design Innovation Medal: Peter Brewin and Will Crawford
·         Swarovski Emerging Talent Medal: Marjan van Aubel
