Sky has opened its applications for its Academy Arts Scholarships, with five £30,000 awards available for emerging artists aged 18-30.

The scholarships, delivered in partnership with creative network Hiive, will be awarded to four UK and one Irish artists, and each receives £30,000 and mentoring from Sky, Hiive and elsewhere in the art world. Applications can be made in categories including visual art, creative production, film production, theatre and comedy, music and dance.

Each winner will receive a short film about their project and practice. Previous winners include visual artist Sarah Maple, from 2015’s round of applications, who will explore “freedom of expression” in her Sky Academy funded project due to be shown in 2016.

Applicants can be made through the Hiive site. Winners will be announced at the South Bank Awards in June 2016. For more information and to apply, visit Sky’s scholarship page.
