The Hague launches new word mark designed by collective of students

Date
9 February 2016

The Hague has launched a new typographic logo, which aims to reference the Netherlands city’s status as “as the international city of peace and justice and as the city by the sea.” Nine graphic design graduates from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague created the mark, with the final version chosen by committee including representatives from sectors such as higher education, tourism, business/investment and the housing sector. The designers were Dayna Casey, Rogier Rosema, Annebel Schipper, Inês da Costa, Menno de Bruijn, Floris Schrama, Eveline Veldt, Theo-Bert Pot and Joost Dekker.

According to The Hague, all businesses, institutions and organisations working to market The Hague may make use of the word mark, and it will be included in the online Brand Book The Hague, developed as part of The Hague City Branding 2020 project.
