What have you got planned this week?

Early rise, early to bed, planning a photoshoot, planning for next video shoot, the usual list of inventing then organising what’s coming up and Cat Sitting.

What do your parents think you do?

Make funny wee films.

Who do you look like?

I have just been told a cross between the female Gelfling and skeksis from The Dark Crystal.

What’s your favorite sense?

I like it when they all work together.

Tell us something people don’t know about you…

I have webbed toes.

Did your education count?

I went to a remote Scottish High School where the uniform was extreme Punk, Goth, Hippy, Psychobilly and Metalhead so there was certainly a lot of visual stimulation. Then, I went to The Scottish Ballet School where I picked up some terrible habits. Then I trained as a Contemporary dancer and choreographer, this has definitely been an important education in relation to my work. As well as dance, music was a big part of my education, both playing, singing and listening.

What word can’t you spell?

Fliranthropist

Tell us a good fact

What’s known as a French Kiss in Britain is known as an English Kiss In France.

What’s Next?

There is a touring retrospective of my work across Australia in May ending in Singapore in June this year. I’m excited as I have not been before. I’m going to be filming a short film while I’m out in Australia too. A very low-key approach, just me, the D.O.P and the lead character in the desert. Then apart from keeping good creative work coming in, I will be continuing to pursue a long piece of fiction suitable for me to translate onto a long piece of film.

What’’s your ‘Plan B’?

To live quietly close to nature and talk to the animals.

I love Stuart’s paintings. He is able to capture so many emotions in one moment, there are so many possible stories to be drawn from this painting, Teardops In My Heart.

This really blew me away. I was only six or eight years old when I watched this with my Dad. Late night viewing in pyjamas with hot chocolate. This has always stayed fixed in my head. 1950s science fiction originally written by Ray Bradbury – Directed by Michael Anderson and written by Richard Matheson.
