Martin Creed

I love Martin Creed – he’s a pleasant Scottish man who does clever things with balloons and felt tips, what’s not to like? When commissioned to do a public piece, his first thought was: “I want to make something nice,” and he ended up creating an enormous neon sign proclaiming: “Everything is going to be alright,” which was then stuck on buildings all over the world – lovely. His paintings are currently on show at Frieze in the Hauser & Wirth Gallery and numbers 992, 1165 and 1065 (he likes to number his pieces) are definitely worth a look if you’re there.
