It might traditionally be used to toast a fish dinner, but this aptly named publication is instead a toast to the role food plays in the artistic world – a self-styled “visual manifestation of food and culture produced within the lives of creative individuals.” Issue One is an homage to the artist-run restaurant Food, an early 1970s bohemian haunt in SoHo, New York. Issue 2 celebrates the banality of the TV dinner, using these deep-frozen product as briefs for artists and writers to interpret as they wished. We love disparate media coming together, and in my opinion, food and art don’t often enough share a plate. Long live White Zinfandel!
