“Create an image which sums up where you live” - George Muncey’s Monthly Brief

Date
14 May 2018

Each month we invite creatives from across the world to invent briefs which everyone, no matter your talents, can get involved in. At the end of week the best of the bunch are featured right here on It’s Nice That.

A few weeks back we featured George Muncey’s photographic series Doughnut City – a study of the cyclical nature of life in his home town of Basingstoke through inner city landscapes and portraits of people he has met whilst making the images.

Taking direct inspiration from his work, this month’s monthly brief challenges you to “create an image which sums up where you live”. Here’s some more guidance from George.

“What image best captures the emotional relationship, atmosphere, or culture of where you call home? It can be positive or negative.”

If you’re in London, you can catch the Doughnut City exhibition at theprintspace Gallery from 14-27th June.

How to enter:

Capture the image and upload your photo to Instagram.

Include @itsnicethat and #ItsBriefThat in the caption.

Entries are open from Monday 14th – 18th May 10am.

George will pick out his favourite images to feature on It’s Nice That at the end of the week.

Tips and bits

The image should represent your personal feelings or thoughts towards the area you live in.

The image can be postive, negative or even funny. We will ignore any images that discriminate culture or individuals.

Have fun and spread the word.

Keep an eye on #ItsBriefThat to see all the other great people getting involved.
