Loving Nico Krijno's eclectic portfolio of beautiful surprising photographs

Date

The best thing about some photographs is the disbelief that the situation depicted ever even happened. How can photos of snakes, eggs, E.T-like light spilling through trees, hotdogs and abstractly sandy skin be so casual? How did the photographer get himself into these strange, alien situations? Makes your own life seem pretty dull.

Due to their uncompromising diversity, it’s hard to tell at first if Nico Krijno’s website is, in fact, a portfolio or just a Tumblr of found images, but lo and behold, it’s all his. Expect many photographs of a blonde (and ridiculously beautiful) muse who appears frequently just hanging out (no big deal) in the lush landscapes of South Africa, sometimes holding perilous snakes. Mix those images with a lot of photos of fruit and processed meats chucked on to piles of clothes and there you have it – a truly spectacular portfolio of work.
