Paul Winstanley

Date
20 October 2011

British artist Paul Winstanley creates paintings that appear on the edge of a quiet action – hovering somewhere in between photographic ambivalence and the labour-intensity of a painting. He works from his own photos, captured in public and featuring time-significant yet generic places – that is to say ante-spaces and waiting rooms – he then transforms them into private and ethereal moments.
