I hope Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham intended such an excellent pun when naming their art, design and architecture outfit. The “snark” (a word, apparently, used to refer to someone or something that is difficult to track down) in Snarkitecture feels apt considering their mutable approach to function and aesthetics. Some projects like Dig, an excavation of a polystyrene mass, are experiments in the unknowns and basic necessities of architecture. Other projects like Goal Posts are no less imaginative yet more precise, using existing structures, distorted to create new meanings, “to make architecture perform the unexpected.”
