Animation is a fantastic medium for telling playful and whimsical stories, but the latest project from London based Studio AKA has harnessed it for more hard-hitting ends – namely a series of films warning people in the USA about the dangers of crystal meth, particularly teenagers. Each one is based on interviews with real addicts and the stark aesthetics combined with harrowing personal tales make for unflinching, uncomfortable but undoubtedly powerful pieces.
