Camille Walala: New Pop for Armani

Artist and pattern maker Camille Walala has collaborated with fashion brand Armani on a campaign for its New Pop accessories collection.

Camille’s recognisable vivid gridded patterns are built as 3D sets for a series of still product shots and animated for a short film, featuring Armani accessories amidst mind-bending op art visuals. Using primary colours and crisp blocks of colour, the sets have a hyperreal aesthetic that could be mistaken for computerised renders, but the IRL objects give the game away.

The sets were designed by Camille for Armani’s AW16 season with direction by Paul Plowman, 3D work by Gary Smith, music by Malcolm Goldie and production by Big Active.
