Hato designs a Space Bus for kids

Date
29 June 2016

Hato has designed a Space Bus with Childwall Academy school for the Liverpool Biennial, creating a space used for an experimental series of workshops. The bus contains “coded messages from outer space for the future of Liverpool,” says Hato, which the children are encouraged to interpret and create through a series of workshops. The workshops utilise a digital drawing tool to design a series of pictograms and future letterforms, developed by Hato.

According to the agency, the bus “pays homage to messages taken on board NASA’s Voyager spacecraft in 1977, which contained sound and images depicting life on Earth.”

Space Bus will be on the road in Liverpool from late June.
