New V&A installation lets you get inside meerkats' London Zoo home

Date
25 September 2015

London Zoo’s Meerkats can be viewed going about their day thanks to a new installation by digital agencies Knit and Seven Seconds Ago. The piece will be at the V&A for two days as one feature of its Digital Weekend as part of the London Design Festival. The agency set up cameras in the meerkats’ home, which will give visitors to the V&A 360 degree video footage that aims to show “how digital and Virtual Reality technology can be used to raise awareness and engage people with wildlife conservation issues,” according to Knit. The footage will be viewed on Google Cardboard virtual reality headsets.

Digital Design Weekend is at the V&A until 28 September.
