It would be odd not to make some kind of mention of the incredible story of the 33 recently-freed Chilean miners, so right on cue, Chilean artist Sebastien Errazuriz has come up with a fantastic tribute. The artist has illuminated a 33-story-tall cross made of 350 fluorescent tubes — that each night will emblazon the façade of a building in Santiago. The piece follows the South American tradition of lighting candles to the saints in hopes they will look after their loved ones and, whether we need it or not is a timely reminder of a fantastic feat.
