rzlbd: Vertical Cave

Posted by Maya Davies,

In big cities you rarely get the opportunity to experience sweeping, uninterrupted horizons or unpopulated skylines. This ‘concept’ project by atelier rzbld proposes upturning the way we live in cities and imagines a new typology, in the form of a vertical cave in the arctic; a romantic version of the primitive hut and man, the intrepid explorer, exposed to the elements and awe-inspiring nature. Built on icebergs, the mobile organically stacked tower offers an ever-changing dream-like landscape to satisfy restless souls. “In a land where a day can last for six months every single predictable living styles changes”.
