Philip-Lorca diCorcia’s series, The Hustlers suspends you in its unreality. A sort of fantasy-documentary photography of scenes illuminated in an eerie, uncertain twilight that feels like a feature-length, iconic Hollywood film in one perfectly staged moment.

The V&A had an exhibition of the series a while ago and he’s represented here, but you can’t beat a Google image search.
