Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility statement
Our mission is to Inspire Creativity and we believe that creative inspiration is for everyone, so we want to open this world up to the widest possible audience. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is not an afterthought, it’s central to how we tell stories, showcase talent and build platforms for the creative community.
Our goal is for all of our channels, content and events to be accessible by all and to be as representative of the creative community as possible. While we have made progress in some areas more than others, we are committed to making improvements every year, as we know that this is a journey and an ever-evolving ambition of ours.
Representation
Every quarter, we review our output across all of our platforms and events in terms of how reflective we are of the creative community.
Our goal is to represent our audience across everything we do by considering the backgrounds, identities and experiences of the creatives that we feature. When we identify any areas where we’ve not been representative, we commit to look further in our research, so we can find new creatives which will in turn further improve representation.
To do this we survey the creatives we have covered and everyone we collaborated with. These surveys are anonymous and optional to complete, and cover ethnicity, location, gender, religion, disability and socio-economic background. This helps us to assess where we might be falling short, to identify any unconscious biases our team might have, and to improve the way we work with creatives.
Accessibility
We are committed to making our website, content, and experiences fully accessible to all. To improve this we are working with Recite.me to provide assistance technology to improve website accessibility. Our goal is for our website to be compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards in 2027. To improve accessibility across our content, events and our ways of working with collaborators, we have worked with digital inclusion consultancy With Not For.
We welcome feedback on DEI and the accessibility of It’s Nice That. If you encounter barriers to access or have suggestions for improvement across our site, content and events, please let us know by emailing our head of operations & people, Julie Fettingsmith (jf@itsnicethat.com).
