Illustrator Barbara Dziadosz's colourful characters make us smile

It was in summer 2014 that we last featured the wonderful illustrations of Barbara Dziadosz. Hailing from “a little town in northern Poland” the illustrator is currently finishing her studies in Hamburg, and with one scroll through her Tumblr it’s clear she’s been hard at work.

Moving away from whimsical, candy floss-pink scenes, it’s great to see the progression in Barbara’s work. The oddly proportioned figures set against plain and gridded backgrounds are the most intriguing to me as they clutch tiny books and gape at ice cream sundaes. Dusky primary colours sit beautifully next to each other and the uneven textures that overlap give Barbara’s images a lovely warmth and charm.
