Tellingly, Rotterdam-based photographer Bas Princen first trained as an architect, before earning a reputation for documenting the vast structures and spaces he might once have helped create. It’s surprising that we’ve not featured his work before, not only because he’s now considered one of photography’s major players, but also because if there’s one thing we can’t get enough of, it’s hilariously overbearing gold-plated buildings.
