Books, theses and any number of magazine articles have been written about the history of popular music but when it comes down to it there’s only really one way to rock it – and that’s in tune. The Collective Cadenza aka cdza have followed up the hugely popular history of nonsense lyrics (see below) with a history of songs which contain whistling. Ranging from Billy Joel to Bob Sinclair, Lt F.J Ricketts to Warren G, it’s three minutes of marvellous lip-assisted loveliness, spanning 98 years and 26 tunes. I particularly enjoyed the double bass player corpsing right at the start. Your move Friday.
